Group 5
Blair of Ladymuir
 
This is a group of 11 participants with 7 different oldest known ancestors. Two of these participants are not part of the Blair DNA Project, but have tested with the Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation (SMGF). Although FTDNA and SMGF test many of the same markers, FTDNA tests some markers that SMGF does not test and visa-versa. Because of this, SMGF testees are can not be included in the 25 and 37 maker comparisons below. Also SMGF does not identify their testees. They do however show partial pedigrees, so it is possible to identify the Blair lines. SMGF01 matched #36943 24 for 24 and #8368 17/17 on the common markers tested. The 3 share a common ancestor. SMGF02 matched #25423 20 for 21 on the common markers tested. The 2 share a common ancestor.
 
Participant Anc05
Participant Anc05 is the hypothetical "common ancestor" of the participants in Group 5. Although it is impossible to actually know his DNA test results, it is possible to derive his most likely test results based on the results of his descendants (the participants). These results are shown below. Note than these results may change as more participants fall into Group 5 and more test results are available.
