DNA Testing
Five participants believe they descend from James Blair and Mary
Harper. All of them descend through
William Blair and Sarah Douglass. Four (#163336, #169363, #170070, #170150) descend through
William's son William and one (#4178) descends through William's son
James.
All five participants tested at least 37 markers. The number of mismatches each had with
others is shown in the following table:

Participant #4178 is in Group 4. Participant
#169363 is in Group 1. Participants #170070 and #170150, who have the
same grandfather, are an exact match and are UGM09. Participant
#163336, who also shares the same grandfather as #170070 and #170150,
does not match anyone in the project.
The diagram below show the pedigrees of the five participants based on conventional research.
Conclusions
The five participants who believe they descend from James Blair and Mary Harper have four distinct and mutually exclusive DNA
"signitures". There is no way of knowing which, if any, of these "signitures" belongs to James Blair.
