DNA 103: Grouping Participants |
Alexander Blair & Jane Scott/Janey Conventional Research Another source of controversy is whether Solomon Blair is the son of James and Catherine. It is known that James and Catherine King Blair had a son named Solomon Blair who was named in his mothers will. DNA Testing A third participant (#130743) descends from Solomon through James King Blair and Elizabeth Bailey. It is known that James and Catherine King Blair had a son named Solomon Blair who was named in his mothers will. A fourth participant (#66626) descends from Alexander Blair and Jane Scott through John Blair and Jane Robertson. John is a known son of Alexander. Three of the four participants are an exact match on 25 markers. The fourth matches the other three on 24 of 25 markers. The two of participants who have tested 37 markers match on 34 markers. The actual marker values for each participant are shown in the table below.
The diagram below show the pedigrees of the four participants based on conventional research.
Conclusions Participant #130743 may or maybe descend from James Blair and Chatherine "Kitrin" King. A 34 for 37 match is a bit "iffy". The fact that all four participants have a rather rare value of 25 on marker DYS#390 would seem to increase the chances these participants are related. All four participants belong to Group 03.
